Teaching Course "Latest Advances in Patient Quality Control"

The course covers the different aspects related to dosimetry and quality control in the verification of patient plans and quality control of the same, from the arrival of a patient until its finalisation.
It aims to provide an introduction through the different practices of the Radiophysics services and quality control systems, recommended for today's established standard and rotational IMRT techniques, as well as providing a combination of theoretical  and practical concepts in dosimetry and patient monitoring.
It is highly recommended for those radiophysicists who want to update and expand their skills and knowledge in this field, both in the practical and theoretical fields.

Key topics covered in this course:

  • Patient verification dosimetry: International recommendations, appropriate detectors and
    measurement procedures
  • Characteristics of FFF beams and their use in patient QC.
  • Workflows in patient QC and follow-up in pre-treatment, in vivo and post-treatment.
  • Theoretical aspects and general characteristics in detector arrays.
  • Patient treatments verification (IMRT/VMAT) and QC of accelerators with detector arrays.
