Mobility Initiatives

More than half of PTW HQ's employees commute to work by bicycle. To support this, we provide over 100 bicycle parking spaces, around 80% of which are covered, as well as charging points for e-bikes. These are powered by electricity generated from our photovoltaic system and, when solar generation is insufficient, by electricity supplied via renewable electricity tariffs. We also offer shower facilities at our Freiburg and Umkirch locations, along with a bicycle repair stand, toolkit, and air compressor for employee use.

Since 2023, PTW HQ has participated in the JobRad program, offering employees bicycle leasing options and supporting the use of bicycles and e-bikes for commuting.

Furthermore, since 2024, all additions to our company vehicle fleet have been and will be fully electric. Some newly purchased electric fleet vehicles have received funding through the European Union's NextGenerationEU program. Electric vehicles can be charged at our on-site charging stations using electricity from our photovoltaic system or, when solar generation is insufficient, electricity supplied via renewable electricity tariffs. Charging stations for e-scooters are also available.

PTW promotes sustainable mobility through a range of measures for employees. In recognition of these efforts, PTW was awarded the MobilSiegel 2024, which acknowledges initiatives that support climate-conscious mobility and alternative transportation options.

To further support mobility choices, we subsidize both the Regiokarte Job (regional public transport ticket) and the Deutschlandticket (nationwide public transport ticket), helping to make public transportation more accessible for employees.

Empowering eco-friendly mobility — Supporting low-emission mobility: Our photovoltaic systems help power charging stations for electric vehicles and e-bikes at our sites, complemented by certified renewable electricity when needed.

The European Union, together with the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, is supporting the measure "Innovation Premium" (doubled federal share of the directive to promote the sale of electrically powered vehicles in Germany) through the European Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF).
