Sustainability Metrics

Environment

PTW is committed to advancing environmental sustainability across its operations. We aim for CO2 neutrality in scopes 1 and 2 by 2030. As part of this goal, we already use 100% certified green electricity, are developing a new heating concept, and are expanding our photovoltaic capacity. In parallel, we are working to better understand and reduce our Scope 3 emissions, recognizing our broader responsibility across the value chain. We prioritize green mobility with initiatives like Regiokarte Job and Deutschland Ticket for employees, alongside transitioning our company fleet to fully electric vehicles and providing in-house charging stations. Our efforts are guided by our EMAS-validated environmental management system, which ensures transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Green Mobility 

  • Regiokarte Job, Deutschland Ticket and Jobrad – more than 50% of employees are using the bicycle to come to work. 
  • Since 2023, all additions to our company fleet are fully electric vehicles. 
  • In-house charging stations for e-cars, e-bicycles and e-motorcycles.  

Energy Efficiency and CO2 neutrality 

  • Own photovoltaic system with the potential to cover 25% of PTWs electrical needs in Freiburg and Umkirch 
  • 100% Eco-electricity since January 2024  
  • Goal: CO2 neutrality for scopes 1 and 2 by 2030

PTW upholds governance principles with a dedicated Sustainability Mission Statement, rigorous Risk Management Processes, compliance with Quality Management Standards (ISO 13485:2016), and robust Whistleblower Protection initiatives, complemented with an ongoing digitalization process and data security protocols, as well as continuous leadership training in role-modeling, effective communication, and team collaboration.
